5. Smart energy saving apparatus
The idea pertains to the use of Micro-Controller based AI for energy saving. The
device is useful for reduction in energy consumption mostly in inductive loads like
fans. It achieves so by two techniques - automated power cut off & variation and auto-
mated power factor correction (Using enhanced laplace transform mathematical
model ). This has a wide range of applications, be it industrial, domestic or agricultural. In
malls and community complexes, there are fans which are left running for no reason
which results in energy losses. This device can reduce the losses by 50-60 % by
automatically making smart fan speed variations with respect to the preferred
temperature fed into the device, maintaining the intended temperature with best possible
efficiency. There’s a temperature sensor in the device that scans the surrounding
temperature and operates the fan accordingly . Besides that, it can be used in agricultural
sub-sectors like poultry farming to enhance the sensitivity and efficiency of egg
incubators. Success rate of already existing costly egg-incubators is not satisfactory
and burdens farmers. This device being 4 times cheaper in cost has better temperature
sensitivity. Similarly the other feature of the device ( power factor correction ) will reduce the
energy consumption by around 60 %.
